Series Designations and Their Options

• WK series, with mechanically adjusted thermostat (the system we recommend in most cases unless you need a split system unit or have an odd-shaped wine room)
• WKL Sentry III Control series, with finer resolution LED thermostat ($45 more than WK)
• WKE Sentinel II Microprocessor Control series with remote monitoring ($150 more than WK - this system allows the inside fan to be left on for continual air circulation, helpful for odd-shaped rooms)
• WKC(E) Series for Cabinets (see photo below)
• WKS Series (split system - see description in next section)

Styles

• Through-the-Wall venting (WK, WKL, WKE series:  usually completely inside the house, which is the most common installation, but can also be mounted on an outside wall; prices start at $595 plus shipping).  OPTION:  power cord through rear ($50).
• For cabinets (WKC, WKCE series:  small units intended for wine cabinets, as shown above; the air blows downward through the bottom).  OPTION:  hot air vent through top ($50).  There is no rear-cord option.
• Split system (WKS series:  condenser outside, fan and coil inside; requires professional installation; ASK US about things like minimum and maximum lineset lengths!).  We can offer the very best deals on these units – best in the country, we believe!  And we can offer "tips" on installation you may not get elsewhere.

Models and Pricing

We offer units to handle wine rooms of six different sizes (cubic feet:  length x width x height).  In the table below, available models are identified.  The 4-digit number in each model indicates the number of BTUs.  NOTE:  If you have a room with a glass door or window, minimal insulation, or an above ground outside wall in warm climates, be sure to bump up your cubic foot requirement.  In any case, never undersize.  Call for assistance!

SHIPPING:  Units are shipped at actual cost (currently $25 to $80), please call!  Because of rapidly rising freight costs, units are shipped FedEx ground, though you can opt for 3-day air or even overnight.  See Availability below.

Note:  The two WKS split system models are effectively sold as "parts."  You must have a licensed HVAC/Refrigeration installer supply the necessary connectors and charge the system with refrigerant.  The inside unit usually sits high on the wall and is not mounted through the wall.  It is intended to be hung on the wall, but it may also sit on a shelf.  Both components run on 120 VAC.  The WKS4000 was redesigned in February 2010 to take R134A refrigerant.  The WKS2200 refrigerant is still R414B (also known as Hotshot), which is rarely stocked by HVAC contractors (be sure to ask), but is always "on the truck" for refrigeration contractors.  A redesign is planned for later this year to use R134A for the WKS2200 too.  There are significant restrictions on lineset length and construction - ask us!  These are just some of the helpful hints you get by dealing with Bracksco!  We also know what you need to do if the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees in winter.

Availability

Breezaire cooling systems are custom manufactured and shipped directly from the factory in California.  Throughout most of 2009, all models generally shipped within a week of order.  Sorry, Breezaire coolers are not returnable.
