The Pit Restaurant

In 2004, Nana's Chophouse opened in downtown Raleigh, NC; and in late 2007 the name was changed to The Pit, when the style of cooking was changed to "authentic barbecue."  This restaurant features a spectacular glass-fronted wine room with VintageView^® wine racks (sold by Bracksco) holding over 1000 bottles!

Just walk in the front door of the restaurant at 328 West Davie Street -- you can't miss it!  Floor to ceiling glass fronts the nine feet of wine racks.  Each column consists of three WS33 wine racks, and the room is temperature controlled.  The space in front of the wine room is available for private functions, such as wine tastings and wine dinners.  The original owners reported that the only problem with the wine racks was ... they couldn't keep them full enough, as wine sales were excellent!

It is rare that you can walk into a restaurant and see the wine room.  With The Pit, the wine room is a memorable feature for sure!  The restaurant is open six days a week (closed Sundays) for dinner and Monday to Friday for lunch.  Contact them at (919) 890-4500.  Website  Map
