Here's a wine room design we did for a customer who asked to see the difference between lining his walls with VintageView racks mounted the regular way (13" columns for 750 ml racks and 15" columns for magnums) versus interlaced (21" dual columns for 750s and 24" for magnums).  Using interlacing increased the bottle count by nearly 30%!

Keep in mind that interlacing works best when you can mount in pairs.  The dimensions supplied for this particular wine room worked out nearly perfectly.
