In May, 2004, Bracksco owner Fred Brack participated in the installation of an Island Display Rack for a local customer. Here are some pictures taken during installation.
This particular installation was a double-width IDR unit with extra racks added on top (custom order). Here is the first base portion after completing the first two steps: attaching the 4 levelers to the footers and the 3 crossbars to the 2 verticals. (The next step, not shown, will be to attach the 2 presentation racks, back-to-back, to the top of the verticals.)

Here are close-ups of the levelers and the crossbar attachment:

The racks mount via six holes in each of the three crossbars (one hole seen above right). A screw passes from one rack, through the hole, capped by a nut in a rack on the other side, holding both of them with the one screw. The rack holes are then covered with black plastic covers.
Before the racks are mounted, though, the double presentation rack is attached. The two racks are bolted together and attached to the frame with just two large bolts. The picture below shows one of the 3 holes (uncovered on the right, covered on the left) where screws hold the two racks together back-to-back, with one of the two mounting bolts in the center (in this case, on the center post of a double-wide base unit with an upper extension).

Here is what the unit looked like after adding the two back-to-back presentation racks on top and the six WS33 racks on either side:

As shown above, this IDR holds 180 bottles. In this particular installation, the base of the upper support rods can be seen just above the presentation racks. Three more crossbars were added on top to support six WS32 racks (holding 108 more bottles), for a total rack height of seven feet. Then the rack was extended with another bottom and top for a total capacity of 576 bottles. The direction of the bottles on the top was reversed from that of the bottom for effect.
Here's a picture of the edge of the upper portion, showing the bottom of a WS32 rack mounted on the crossbar above the presentation rack.
