New Product: Personalized Woozies
We've been selling personalized Built NY neoprene wine totes for years, and now there's a related item on the market: Woozies! What's a woozie? Think of a Woozie as a koozie for wine glasses or wine bottles: neoprene wine glass or wine bottle sleeves that stretch to fit and insulate your glass or bottle and feel soft to the touch. They keep the wine cool on a hot day and keep your fingers off the cold glass on a cold one.

Woozies (in two sizes) are really unique, while the wine bottle Woozie has just
been introduced this month, and we are one of the first companies to offer
them. Because we specialize in imprinting wine accessories, that's how we
are marketing this product -- with custom imprints, rather than individual
sales. The minimum order quantity of any of the above products is 48,
with prices at $6.95 for the Original Woozie, $9.25 for the new Big
Woozie, and $12.95 for the brand new Bottle Woozie. You can also buy the

The Frontgate / Rogar Story
It's not unusual for a
major company to make a "knock-off" of someone's product, then
sell it for less money. Both Wine Enthusiast and now Frontgate have
capitalized on the success of Rogar International's wine openers.
Knock-offs are copies of someone else's design, generally manufactured in Asia
to lower production costs. (Wine Enthusist also sells knock-offs of our
USA-made original Labeloff brand Label Savers, using pictures that look very
similar.)
In the fall of 2009, Frontgate introduced their "Granite Base Wine Opener" in their catalogs for an introductory price of $99.95, "reg $179." It looks very similar to a Nickel Champion Rogar opener. They apparently were so successful in their marketing that they ran out of stock (although they never stated this on their website and often took awhile to tell customers who ordered). Customers were eventually notified, and many of them did a Google search on "granite base wine opener," and guess who came up first? Bracksco -- who also has an excellent discount price and free shipping. Most customers opted for the model 254, the Estate Antique Bronze (pictured right), and we indirectly thank Frontgate for all the business we otherwise might not have received this year, though we and Rogar are not happy about the knock-off. But our customers got the real thing: A Rogar opener manufactured in the USA, as it has been since 1975. We thank those of you who ordered a Rogar opener from us this year. We were able to deliver almost every order before Christmas. Please keep us in mind for future gift-giving!
