Hello, and welcome. We start
this month with a suggestion for MOTHER'S DAY, which falls on
May 11th this year. How about a personalized print of a flower
shop? Rather than giving flowers that last a week, give a gift
of flowers that will last a lifetime! Put your mother's name on the
flower shop below.
We
normally feature the wine shop print by our artist, Marilyn Bast
Dunlap, who personalizes each print for you; but in honor of Mother's Day, we
thought we would feature one of her other four prints we offer. (The
remaining three are a pastry shop, cheese shop,
and bicycle shop. All are available as
alternatives.) Your cost for an unframed 8-1/2" x 11" print is
just $59 (plus $4.50 shipping). Order now and you have plenty of time to
take it to a local frame shop, or we can frame it for you, or you can give it
unframed. Not sure of how to personalize it? Ask Marilyn!
She loves to talk to clients and guide them through options. Just tell us
you want her to call you when you order. Typically Fleur de Lis
(literally Lily Flower) is replaced with Fleurs de Marilyn or Marilyn's
Flower Shop, or you can replace FLEURISTE on the
left, the text on the front of the awning, or text on the window.
Prints are normally personalized and shipped in a few days, but why not plan
ahead now for Mother's Day? Give us a call at 888-327-0637
or visit our website to see all the prints at www.bracksco.com/wineprint.html.
This Mother's Day, give someone a gift that is both unique and special.
(PS: Note Marilyn's trademark little black cat on the left!)
Personalized
Corkscrew Lapel Pins: We have a new product on the website
as part of our specialization in personalizing wine accessories. We are
now offering two styles of corkscrew lapel pins, and both come in gold
or silver. One is a little fancier, with great detail, and it
comes in a clear gift box. The other, less expensive, actually has a
slightly larger area for a name to be laser engraved. You can order
either of them in quantities as small as five, individually
personalized with different names. If you want a club name or logo
engraved, the price drops considerably when you order in higher
quantities. Visit our website at www.bracksco.com/lapelpins.html
for more information.
We
have previously featured our $39.50 LeRustique wine rack, and
now we are lowering the shipping price when you order more than
one. Pay just $7 for shipping, regardless of how many you order.
These make a great gift, so "stock up"! Visit http://www.bracksco.com/lerustique.html for
more information, or call us at 888-327-0637 to order. Special Offer for newsletter readers this month:
[Sorry, you have to subscribe to read these!].
Wine
and Wine Gifts: Two of our affiliates have special
offers on wine and gift pack accessories this month. We have created a
nice summary page of all the offerings from My Wines Direct (click
the link to see it), and they are offering $16 off each purchase of $99
or more this week if you use code SWEET16 by April 7th.
And even if you order later, they have a great selection of single bottles,
gift packs and baskets, and gift certificates. Another affiliate has
multiple offers, all valid through the end of April. Click the Wine.com
link, browse the site, then use the appropriate code at checkout:
Wine
News: In the January issue of Beverage World, Andrew Kaplan
discusses wine trends for 2008 in "Wine for the People" and
passes along some of Gary Vaynerchuk's predictions. (Vaynerchuck hosts a WineLibrary.com webcast.) We can't
help but offer our own (Bracksco) comments, too! "... drinkers will
start to forego the fruitier wines like pinot noir and syrah, for those that
pair better with foods." (Bracksco: Huh? Since when do
these grapes not pair well with food?! We love both of them for their
breadth of food matches.) Gary predicts that wines from Portugal will do
well because of "quality and value." "Established critter
labels like Yellow Tail" will probably continue to do well, but new
critter label entries won't, due to saturation of the market. Gary
feels Albariño from Spain will do well (Brackso likes the Nora offering best,
but Burgans is good, too), along with Viognier (a good one to try from lesser
known wine regions such as North Carolina, per Bracksco). He closes his
predictions for varietal successes with New Zealand sauvignon blanc, red zinfandel,
and (yikes!) a modest comeback in merlot.
