Interlacing VintageView Wine Racks

On the other end of the wine storage spectrum is a wine cellar or wine room.  VintageView racks offer a great storage solution; but what if you want to store more wine than the room will seem to hold, or what if the wall dimensions are such that there is left over space at one end?  Then you need to explore INTERLACING VintageView wine racks!

 

Normally VintageView wine racks are mounted in columns 13" wide.  (That is, the space taken up by the horizontal bottles is 13".)  So multiples of 13" work great for wall sizes:  39, 52, 65, etc.  But suppose you have only 63"?  Shrinking the column width by a half inch or more may give unsatisfactory results.  Interlacing to the rescue!

 

With interlacing, you reverse the direction of every second column, mounting that rack 2" offset from the first one and closer to it.  Now the necks of the wine bottles interlace (fit between one another), and the space taken up by the two columns is five inches less than usual.  This works regardless of whether the racks are 1-, 2-, or 3-bottles deep.
